Ronil Patel has over 10 years experience in drug discovery and development. Currently, Ronil serves as the Director of Business Development for Point Guard Partners, LLC and it’s subsidiary Oculos Clinical Research. As part of the Business Development team, Ronil is involved in actively engaging senior management in all major business presentations, and discussions on Requests For Information (RFI), Master Service Agreements (MSA), Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDA), clinical trial budgets and Scope of Work (SOW) to achieve new business.
Ronil has a good understanding of drug development lifecycle and management. As a project leader and manager on several projects, Ronil created, monitored and maintained timelines for client’s strategic drug development program, as well as coordinated and managed cross-functional teams that involved internal and external (vendors and sponsors) personnel to achieve project goals and meet timelines. While at Point Guard Partners, Ronil also served as the Business Manager of OSD Innovations (a joint-venture between Point Guard Partners and Baylor University), where he was in- charge of technology transfer, daily operations, and business development.
Prior to joining Point Guard Partners, Ronil worked in research and development labs in the area of drug discovery and drug delivery. His research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. He has extensive knowledge and hands-on expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry and animal models for drug discovery and delivery. He managed numerous projects that involved developing small molecule inhibitors for Rho kinase, Proteasome, Stat3, JAK and Aurora kinase, and has a thorough understanding of cell signaling pathways. Ronil holds a Master of Technology from Dr. D. Y. Patil University and a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from Florida Institute of Technology.
